Free space
Every abandoned house or place connected to the platform will partly or fully be used to offer a free space for sharing products, time and/or services for free donation/exchange that supports autonomy in the area. This could be anything, for example a clothes shop, repair-cafe, laundry place, the offer of a shower, kitchen, library, education, yogaroom, craftmaking, playground, painting, local products exchange, sportive activities, etc..
This all will be managed following the gift economy principles. You may not have heard about this yet so here we like to give you a short introduction to the concept.
A gift economy runs on the assumption that doing what you love can benefit others and yourself. Money may not be abundant but creativity is, and gifting makes use of this creativity.
A gift economy runs on social capital. When you give to others, you build a sense of gratitude and a desire to respond in kind. This is what’s known as social capital. Those who give the most build up the most social capital and this social capital enables them to get things or services they want or need from other members of the community.
This system can be scaled to work in larger more modern communities.
